We girls just love to play with hair and in this fashion game, we damage our silky mane with chemicals and heat and pollution. Although we can’t regulate the level of pollution in the air, we still can manage to maintain the thick and long hair if we stop making few mistakes. Here are the eight things you shouldn’t do with your hair!
1) Too much combing:
Yes, combing your hair too much will tear them off from the root. If you brush your hair with too much pressure, the follicles will also become weak and hair will fall off from your scalp. So, brush your hair once in the morning as it helps the natural oils to retail the moisture of the scalp. Instead of a hair brush, you can use your fingers to disentangle your hair and then brush it afterwards.
2) Tight Ponytails:
Ponytails are great when you want to keep your hair away from your face. But it creates a lot of pressure around the crown area and prevents hair growth. So, try to do a loose ponytail and clip the hair that falls on your face.
3) Only Shampoo, and no conditioner:
If you do not condition your hair after washing it with shampoo, you will get a tangled dry hair afterwards. So, it is necessary to use conditioner after shampoo. It will make it easier to brush your hair and also de-frizz your hair.
4) Too Many Styling Agents:
It might be colors or heat used for perming or straightening, any kind of chemical or external pressure will damage your hair to an extent. So, you should stay away from hair colors if you want to keep your hair healthy. But if you are ready to compromise with the quality of your hair just for the sake of style, don’t curb your urge to get your hair tainted.
5) Too Much Smoking:
Yes, it damages your hair too, let alone the internal organs. Smoking makes your skin and hair dry and pale. Your hair might also start stinking if you continue smoking for a long time.
6) A Bad Diet:
Diet that doesn’t fulfill your nutrient needs will cause you hair loss. If you do not include enough protein in your diet, then your hair growth will be slow and you will lose more hair than you will grow.
7) Brushing Wet Hair:
When the hair is wet, it is more likely to come off the roots if you put pressure. Brushing needs pressure and hence it is not right to brush your hair when it is wet.
8) Not Cutting the Hair:
We sometimes don’t cut our hair to keep it long and lustrous. But it damages the tip of the hair resulting in split ends.
