There’s been a lot of buzz around Jiah Khan’s death. Everyone wanted to know whether it was a murder or a suicide. At last on Monday, Central Bureau of Investigation has told Bombay High Court that Jiah Khan, the actress who was first seen in Nishabd sharing screen with Amitabh Bachchan, was not murder but have committed suicide out of sheer despair.
Although there have been questions regarding CBI’s link with the accused in this case but Anil Singh, the additional solicitor general has clarified saying, “The CBI has no reason to protect the accused (actor Sooraj Pancholi) in the case,”
On the other hand, Rabia Khan, Jiah Khan’s mother is not happy with CBI’s investigation and claims that her daughter was murdered. She wants to hand over the case to the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
CBI told after the investigation that Jiah has committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan. Although Rabia Khan has claimed that her daughter was killed by someone who entered through the open window and hung her to the fan, CBI didn’t agree with her claims as there was no proof that shows someone’s entrance. The marks that were made on Jiah’s neck was due to the dupatta she used for hanging herself.
Jiah Khan was found hanging from the ceiling in her flat on 3rd June 2013 and Sooraj Pancholi was accused of driving her to commit suicide. After that, Jiah’s mother approached the court saying it was not a suicide, rather a murder. In December 2015, CBI filed a charge sheet against Pancholi for provoking Jiah to commit suicide. But Rabia claimed that CBI has missed out some crucial points and moved the High Court.
Now High Court will take action for Rabia’s plea on 23rd August.
