There have been more than thousand blogs on the internet that tell you about how to make your marriage last longer. Not just blogs, even books have been written to let us know how to be more satisfied in our own marital relationships. Well, we never thought it’d be as simple as this.
Researchers have found that if a couple gets more sleep than the average, they will be more satisfied in their conjugal life. Yes, you have read that right! Here is the secret to a happy marriage revealed and it is nothing but sound sleep that decreased the effects of those negative events and heightens the level of satisfaction in their marital life.
When the husband and wife have more sleep than average nights, they seem to be more satisfied in their relationship, at least for the following day. The research was done in the Florida State University in U.S and one of the researchers, Heather Maranges has stated, “The universality of our findings is important.”
Maranges also added that we all need sleep at all stages of life. No matter at what stage the couple is, they might be adversely affected if they don’t get enough sleep every night and the marriage will suffer a great deal.
They conducted a research on 68 newlyweds and for seven days they recorded how many hours of sleep the couples got and how they responded to two sets of questions, each set scaling from one to seven. The first set of questions was related to their conjugal life and marital satisfaction. The other set was related to the nine areas of relationship experiences. Husbands and wives were asked several questions and the study showed those guys who slept better have responded better to the questions related to relationship experiences.

The study has shown the importance of sleep in our day-to-day life as it controls certain areas like self-regulation, self-control and the lack of which can hugely affect the relationship between the couples.
