In India, we are quite well acquainted with catching running autos, buses, and taxis, but have you ever heard of catching a flight on the runway? No, right? Well, this Ryanair passenger who is from Bolivia has actually done this. He literally skipped the boarding bridge and ran to the tarmac to catch the already departed flight. Now he is facing charges along with a hefty fine for doing it.

Reportedly, the man was travelling to Gran Canaria and supposedly missed the boarding call. The jet bridge from where he jumped off was almost 10 feet high. The mysterious traveler somehow managed to get past the staffs in the terminal. And what more is that he finally flagged down the plane and boarded it.

Later, the Civil Guard spokesperson in Gran Canaria said that the man was not arrested but was stopped. He also added that this man breached a number of security measures and hence is liable to pay a hefty fine. Despite the guards’ attempt to stop him, he managed to run away and catch the Ryanair flight.

Reports said that the man is apparently from Bolivia and was traveling alone. A spokesperson at Madrid Airport Authority said to Daily Mail, “The incident happened around 9pm on Friday. We called the Civil Guard in after he breached security and broke a fire alarm before reaching the tarmac.”

He also added, “We don’t know what happened after the Civil Guard were called. The only person who can answer the question of why he acted like he did is the man. It is definitely a first for this airport.”
